ACNE RESOURCE CENTRE
Acne, or acne vulgaris, is a common skin problem which starts when oil and dead skin cells clog up the pores. Bacteria may subsequently infect these clogged pores and result in redness, swelling and pus formation.
Mr A is a 14 year old secondary school boy with acne problem for many years. When he saw me, he has multiple inflammed spots on his face with some scars forming already. He has tried many creams and beauty products, but they were not effective for him. Squeezing the pimples caused unsightly marks and worsened the appearance. The acne seemed to be getting worse and was affecting his self esteem. He had even become depressed and introverted according to his mother. After taking oral medication for his acne, his acne came under control and he has become more confident, even his school work improved. Recently he scored very well in his exams.
