RENAL FAILURE
|
Renal failure, also known as kidney failure, is a condition in which the kidneys fail to adequately filter waste products and toxins from the blood. Renal failure may be acute or chronic.

PROTEINURIA
|
Proteinuria is the presence of excess proteins in the urine. This excess proteins often give the urine a foamy appearance.

HAEMATURIA
|
Haematuria is the presence of red blood cells in the urine.
|

|
GLOMERULONEPHRITIS
|
Glomerulonephritis is a condition of the kidneys in which there is inflammation of the glomeruli. A glomerulus is a collection of blood capillaries which perform the first step in filtering blood to form urine.

RENAL DIALYSIS
|
Renal dialysis is the process of filtering the blood using a machine, the way kidneys normally do. This is required when the kidneys are unable to adequately perform their function, as in renal failure. |

URINE TRACT INFECTION
|
Infection of the urine tract. It may range from lower tract infections such as cystitis (infection of the bladder) to upper tract infections, such as pyelonephritis (infection of the kidneys).

RENAL STONES
|
Stones develop anywhere along the urinary tract - in the kidneys, ureters or bladder. Most of these stones are calcium stones. Symptoms caused by these stones depend on their location in the urinary tract.
