BRONCHITIS
|
Bronchitis is the inflammation of the mucous membranes of the bronchi, the large airways that carry air from the trachea to the lungs. Bronchitis may be acute or chronic.

ASTHMA
|
Asthma is a chronic inflammatory condition of the airways which makes breathing difficult. In asthma, there is recurrent inflammation and constriction of the air passages, resulting in temporary narrowing of the airways.

Pleural effusion is an excess of fluid that accumulates in the space that surrounds the lungs. This excessive amounts of fluid can impair breathing by limiting the expansion of the lungs during inspiration. |

CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE AIRWAY DISEASE
|
Chronic obstructive airway disease (also known as chronic obstructive lung disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) comprises chronic bronchitis and emphysema, a pair of co-existing diseases of the lungs in which the airways become narrowed. Unlike asthma, this limitation of airflow is poorly reversible and typically gets progressively worse over time.
